Our Story
Originating from Paris, a city celebrated for its appreciation of the arts and fine living, Thomas Juraver first encountered the traditional Japanese method of tea steaming known as "MushiSeiho" in the tea gardens of Kyoto. This meticulous technique not only preserves the vibrant colors and enhances the flavors of tea leaves but also maintains their essential nutrients, making each cup as healthful as it is flavorful. Thomas was captivated by how MushiSeiho captures the essence of tea at its purest while reflecting the principles of harmony with nature deeply ingrained in Japanese culture.
This discovery inspired Thomas to immerse himself in the world of Japanese tea, ultimately leading him to become a Certified Japanese Tea Selector and Instructor. His profound interest in the health benefits of MushiSeiho based tea, coupled with its cultural significance, marks the cornerstone of MAISON TOMOKI, embodying authenticity, excellence, and a profound respect for traditional tea practices.
Thomas partnered with Motoki Okochi, whose extensive experience in luxury goods spans Tokyo, Paris, and Sydney. Together, they leverage Motoki's cosmopolitan insight to ensure that each tea variety meets the highest standards of sophistication and quality, all influenced by the meticulous standards of MushiSeiho.
